Xiaomi Launches Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A, Successors of Redmi 3 Series

Xiaomi has launched its two new smartphones today Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A, successors to the Redmi 3 smartphone lineup. Xiaomi has launched the devices in the mid-range market. Xiaomi’s Redmi 4 devices will support be 4G VoLTE . Xiaomi has launched three variants of the phone: Redmi 4 Pro Edition, Redmi 4 standard edition, and the Redmi 4A.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro edition packs a 5-inch TFT display with 1080p resolution with 2.5D curved glass. The phone runs on a 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, and will be featuring 3GB RAM along with 32GB of storage (expandable to 128GB).The Redmi 4 comes with a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a 5MP front shooter. Xiaomi’s Redmi 4 is powered by a 4,100 mAh battery, same as the Redmi Note 3. The new Redmi phone will be running the latest MIUI 8 version over Android Marshmallow. The Redmi 4 standard edition sports a 720 p resolution and Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4Ghz with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space. Redmi 4A comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, packing 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The battery on the Redmi 4A will be smaller 3120 mAh. Both Xiaomi Redmi 4 phones will be made available in China, with the Standard edition priced at 699 Yuan (approx Rs 6,900) and the Redmi 4 Pro available for 899 Yuan (approx Rs 8,800). The phones will be available in three colour variants : Gold, Grey and Silver. The Redmi 4A is priced at 499 Yuan (Rs 4933).
The Redmi 3 was launched earlier this year, that came with a 5-inch IPS LCD display. The phone featured an octa-core Snapdragon 616 chipset, coupled with an Adreno 405GPU. It featured 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, and had a 13MP primary camera with a 5MP front shooter. Xiaomi introduced the Redmi 3S in India, which had a Snapdragon 430 processor.
